Would you like to integrate traditional French chestnut fencing into a gate? You've probably noticed—it’s not that simple.

The solution? Naturae’s handcrafted chestnut gates, made from European hardwood (durability class 2), available in two models with either half-round or full-round timber frames.

Crafted Chestnut Gates

Our chestnut gates are made in-house at our own workshop. We nail or screw the pointed, debarked chestnut slats directly onto the frame—giving your gate the same natural look and feel as the rest of the fencing.

Half-Round or Full-Round Frame?

• Full-round frame: ideal for frequent or heavy-duty use

• Half-round frame: suitable for light-duty use or as a budget-friendly alternative

Gate Posts, Hardware & Installation

For this type of gate, we do not pre-install the hinges or latch by default. This allows you to choose whether the gate should open to the left or right using the tumbler latch.

We also offer all the necessary hardware for double chestnut gates—feel free to ask for more info!

Our gate posts for chestnut gates are made from untreated oak, featuring a domed top. As you may know, oak and chestnut weather beautifully together, both developing a natural grey patina over time.
